ZetaChain’s mission is to serve as a platform for universal access, simplicity, and utility across any blockchain. We envision a world where users can access all of their assets and data across any chain without the need for bridges or risky wrapped tokens. Developers can deploy a single contract that spans all chains, even the Bitcoin network. Building off of ZetaChain Wrapped 2022, we made huge progress towards realizing this vision. As we approach the launch of ZetaChain Mainnet, let’s look back and reflect on our top achievements of the year!

- 14,000,000+ Cross-Chain Transactions (CCTXs) produced by testnet dApps on ZetaChain (Source: ZetaScan Explorer).
- 150+ dApp partners integrated on testnet (Source: ZetaChain Ecosystem) with over 46,000 dApp contracts deployed by developers.
- 1,800,000+ Community Members, representing over 215+ countries, including all major crypto markets.
- 1st native BTC smart contracts support with the ability to use Bitcoin apps from your wallet in DeFi or from Bitcoin network itself.
Looking back at key 2023 milestones
2023 marked the highest level of activity and progress in the life of ZetaChain. Leading up to our last major release of the year, The Next Step for ZETA Points in ZetaLabs, we look back and remember some major milestones along the way.
- February 16th, 2023: ZetaChain releases its new brand identity, focused on making crypto more approachable to everyday people
- March 8th, 2023: ZetaChain passes its 1,000,000 millionth user on ZetaLabs
- April 6th, 2023: ZetaChain Whitepaper Release in 17 languages
- April 13th, 2023: ZetaChain announces a $5M Grants Program
- June 21st, 2023: Athens-3 genesis, establishing ZetaChain’s long term testnet with decentralized validators, which sees 25,000 testnet applications in one week [Source: CoinList]
- July 6th, 2023: ZetaChain open-sources all core technologies, enabling open contributions from anyone around the globe
- August 16th, 2023: ZetaChain Raises $27M to fulfill its mission to serve as a platform for universal access, simplicity, and utility across any blockchain
- September 13th, 2023: ZetaLabs Swap sunset and the release of the first public Zeta App partner ecosystem page. ZetaChain doubles its user base to 2.3+ million to date.
- September 26th, 2023: 100 Zeta Apps live on testnet (across DeFi, Identity, Gaming, NFTs, Social, and more)
- October 11th, 2023: ZetaChain executes more than 20 events at major conferences around the world in September
- October 12th, 2023: First cross-chain integration for RWA auctions use case with native BTC support
- October 15th, 2023: OKX launches first ever testnet campaign on ZetaChain
- October 24th, 2023: Magic Wallet & Particle Network go live for web2 wallet creation
- November 2nd, 2023: ZetaChain BTC hackathon winner showcases NFT trading with native BTC
- November 13th, 2023: ZetaChain Ecosystem passes 150 dApps preparing to launch with ZetaChain
- November 16th, 2023: Sushi partners with ZetaChain for first native BTC support
- Mid-November, 2023: ZetaChain passes 3M users on testnet
- November 20th, 2023: Bitget Wallet debuts on ZetaChain their new web3 discovery product
- November 22nd, 2023: ZetaChain releases its infra ecosystem including new major partners such as Pyth for Oracle services, Protofire for Gnosis Safe deployment, Covalent for data indexing, and more
- November 28th, 2023: ZetaChain launches first academy program for omnichain dApp developer
- December 20th, 2023: ZetaChain wraps up IBW and TBW, totaling 31 official conference events in 2023
- December 21st, 2023: ZetaChain closes the year, releasing The Next Step for ZETA Points in ZetaLabs
